For me, the beauty of teaching is that when we come into the classroom, we create space to hone our craft, build community, and discover our unique sensibilities as artists. Whether college students or emerging professionals, we meet in the classroom as colleagues, and we emerge as better people for our time spent together.

I am on the adjunct faculty at Marymount Manhattan College, where I teach Script Analysis and Dramatic Storytelling for BFA/BA Theater students. Dramatic Storytelling is a course I devised for Writing for the Stage concentration, in which playwrights and other theater makers explore the techniques, structures, and personal expression that make for compelling dramatic stories.

In London, I worked with New Earth Theatre to lead annual workshops for British East and Southeast Asian writers. I first collaborated with New Earth to develop short plays for Dim Sum Nights 3 in 2013, and then returned to teach workshops in 2014, 2015, and 2017.

In Singapore, I taught two courses at NYU Tisch School of the Arts Asia in the MFA Dramatic Writing program: Drama Lab and Professional Colloquium.

I also collaborated with playwright Jean Tay to create and co-teach a curriculum for young playwrights for Singapore Repertory Theatre.
